I see no reason why the CTB should not have a Tractor based "Swim Suit" photo edition like the Sports Ilustrated "Swim Suit" editon.

I don't know about pictures here. Some can be interesting and some can really cut down on the number of words needed. However, it is very easy to get seriously carried away with pictures as I've noted elsewhere.
I tried to upload a test pic a few weeks back. As near as I can tell the board allows links to images on other sites, but images cannot be uploaded to this board. If that's true, I don't have any firm conclusions on whether it’s good or bad.
From my point of view, pictures, signature icons etc. that come as a part of posts can be a pain. We've got ancient telephone lines here in the country, and they only give 28.8 bps no matter what modem is used. Optional attachments are one thing, but pics that come with a post slows my reading way down. A satellite download service is a pretty expensive fix for people who mostly want to read. I'm guessing that from Dennis' point of view, more pics is more site traffic, which increases the Board's costs of operation.

So, you just gotta send the pics of your little beauty to the webmaster.
To minimize bandwidth, I suggest you sendin 600x480 resolution...that'll look fine on the web.
If you pic is bigger then 640x480, you can resize it using Irfanview (www.irfanview.com).

Bird: I wouldn't have guessed that Texas and Ontario country phones work about the same. Maybe it's not a matter of geography but just city vs. country. I have formed the opinion that phone companies would just rather not have rural business, so maybe that's the explanation.
Roy: It’s been a long while since I've seen the CTB Homepage. My bookmark goes right into the past 48-hours list, so I didn't know about the note to send pics. That sounds like an OK idea and maybe I'll do it, but I'll probably wait until I have my 3ph forklift mounted. That seems to be a fairly rare implement for a compact owner to have and something I think highly of. Yes, anything larger than 800x600 pics should be avoided.

Tom, I think you've got it when you said, "phone companies would just rather not have rural business." When we bought this place, a big phone company owned the system (GTE). They tried for years to sell it and finally sold it to a new start up outfit that has been buying up small phone companies in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. The new company had (or has) BIG plans to do great things, but NOTHING so far, of course. ....

The new and improved service as of this around our camp at least offers private lines and touch-tone service for the first time--and presumably much greater reliability. Even so, the phone situation kind of reminds me of how the railroads got rid of passenger service--make it so unpleasant that everybody does something else and then tell the government regulators they're loosing money.
We checked on installing a new phone service at our camp after disconnecting the phone to do a building demolition. Turns out that overhead lines couldn't be used and installation charges were unreal if the phone company did the trenching. An operator told me that most people do their own trenching. Fine I say, 'Just tell me where to start and how deep.' Nobody had an answer. I say that I think the trench has to start at a box on my neighbour's property and I don't think I should just start digging there. ‘Check with the township' I'm told. 'I'm sure the township isn't going to know anything about phone company easements' I say.
No answers. Sure reminds me of trying to take a train back in the 60's. Ended up sticking with the cell phone, even though we have to walk to the highway to get a strong enough signal. I guess the two pay as you go cell services I have to have in my phone to get decent coverage around here aren't my favourities either. Maybe I should think of something happy.
